Bronze medalist of the Superleague Dnipro in the first leg of the qualification of the Cup of Europe FIBA outplayed the Turkish “Buyukcekmece”.
“Dnepr” in the first quarter yielded 13-point gap, but in the second 10-minute Dzyuba, Mishula and the other showed the Turks that they should be considered.
In the second half both teams added protection – “Dnipro” tried several times to break away, but more than five points benefits could not gain.
In the final quarter of American Legionnaires “Buyukcekmece” seemed to turn the tide of the match, but two long shots from Misuli allowed Dnipro to resist. Two seconds before the end of normal time experienced Glebov sold a throw from-under rings and has brought Ukrainians to a sensational victory in Istanbul.
The return match between the “Dnepr” and “Buyukcekmece” will be held next week in Ukraine. The team of Denis Zhuravlev to qualify for the next round of qualifying need to win in regulation time.
