Interesting things are done in the movie business Russia (and not only). Today in our hands we got the official press release announcing the establishment of the Association Sinodistillation, which included six major players in this market. It is noteworthy that in the “main objectives” of the Association included, quote:
Establish and improve communication/dialogue between business representatives and authorities of legislative and Executive power
Apparently, it is a response to different kinds of legislative initiatives in recent years.
It is also interesting that the Association, which included representatives of the companies Twentieth Century Fox CIS, Karo Premier, Our Cinema, Walt Disney studios Sony pictures Releasing, Central partnership and universal pictures international, aims to increase the attractiveness of investment in the industry “with special focus on Russian cinema”.

Moscow, 18 September 2017, Six leading film companies merged to create the Association Sinodistillation.
The membership of the Association includes: Vadim Smirnov (“Twentieth Century Fox CIS”), Alexey Ryazantsev (“Caro Premier”), Sergey Selyanov (“Our Cinema”), Anton Sirenko (“Walt Disney studios Sony pictures Releasing”), Paul Stepanov (“Tsentral partnership”), Vadim Ivanov (“universal pictures international”).
As the main objectives the Association aims:
– Formation of favorable conditions for the growth and development of the market for theatrical screening and the industry in General;
– Establish and improve communication/dialogue between business representatives and the legislative and Executive authorities;
– The formation and consolidation of a code of ethics and regulations that improve the business climate in the industry, increasing its transparency (transparency) and the attractiveness for investment, with a particular focus on Russian cinema;
– Maintain constructive dialogue with other industry organizations and groups aimed at meeting the needs of the existing audience and expand it with the help improve our products and services.

Yes, we are all very different and each of us has his own idea of what is good )!
Yes, we all will continue to be competitors in the market of film distribution!
But this does not mean that we will not be able to find common solutions to improve the functioning of this market, which in fact we created all together!
And once, as I have pointed out, such an Association existed…
For this reason, and in order not to perish one by one, we’re trying to create a new
Association Sinodistillation!

It is impossible to consider the industry Mature, if not influential professional associations, so I believe that the appearance of the Association Sinodistillation is the right step. We all see that it is necessary for market development, establishment of a dialogue between representatives of business and government, representatives of other industry organizations and much more.
