Apple design chief jony Ive in the framework of the conference the New Yorker TechFest told about the process of creating the iPhone X.
According to him, the team worked to create a smartphone for the last five years. The company has created prototypes of smartphones with edge-to-edge display and facial recognition.
“In 99% of cases we have failed. The vast majority of our attempts were failures. If all our prototypes did not break halfway, we would have shown the smartphone much earlier,” — said Ive.
Apple introduced iPhone X at the presentation on September 12. Novelty is equipped with edge-to-edge OLED display with a diagonal of 5.8 inches, and unlock the device by using the system of face recognition, which replaced the fingerprint scanner.
