Australian musician (guitarist) and music producer George young (George Young) died 23 Oct 2017. He was 70 years old.
George was the older brother of Malcolm and Angus young of the leaders of the rock group AC/DC, and as a producer had a hand in creating a number of albums, including hits such as High Voltage, T. N. T., Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Let There Be Rock and Powerage. Moreover, he participated in the recording of the early albums as bass guitarist.
AC/DC released an official statement in which he paid tribute to the deceased:
Without his help and guidance it would not be AC/DC. It was impossible to wish for a more loyal and professional musician, songwriter, producer, mentor. And it was impossible to imagine a better brother than George.
