The project promotes initiative in West Sussex.
British engineers are developing a train on solar energy. The project is of a pilot character, as it requires large financial costs.
Experts from Imperial College London want to install along the railway tracks solar panels, which will enable the movement of the train. The electricity that is received, will go directly in the traction current, excluding from circuit the grid.
“Many railway lines pass where there is great potential from the point of view of solar energy, but where it is difficult to access the power grid,” says one of the authors of the ideas.
This project promotes initiative in West Sussex for the protection of the environment. The residents of the County in the South of England dissatisfied with the conduct of exploration drilling operations, which led to the idea to create a new plan for the electrification of the district with renewable energy from the sun.
