Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada although to remove their immunity

The bill was introduced by 158 members of Parliament.

Wednesday, July 19, the Verkhovna Rada introduced a draft law “on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine (regarding the abolition of parliamentary immunity)”. This was reported on the website lie. The draft law has the registration number 6773.

At the same time, on the website of the Verkhovna Rada there is text in the draft law. Reported only that the draft law was initiated by 158 parliamentarians. Among them – Yulia Tymoshenko, Oksana Syroid, Oleh bereziuk, Mustafa Nayem, Sergey Leshchenko, Svetlana Zalishchuk, etc. the Bill still must pass the examination in parliamentary committees: legal policy and justice, rules and organization of work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the budget of prevention and combating corruption and European integration.

Last week the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he regretted the fact that Parliament is not deprived of immunity of all MPs, which made a submission to the General Prosecutor’s office.

“This week you saw in Parliament, when, unfortunately, not for all, but lifted the immunity. Never in the history of Ukraine was not like this when, in the (MPs – ed.) factions of the coalition, the decision on the withdrawal of immunity and presentation of suspicion” – said Poroshenko.
