To install house-wide meters of natural gas distribution companies will be able only with the consent of the owners of an apartment building. The relevant amendments to the law on 21 December was made by the Verkhovna Rada.
It is noted that the law “On ensuring the commercial accounting of natural gas” voted 325 deputies with the required minimum of 226 votes.
In addition, the adopted document that prohibits gas companies to stop gas supplies to an apartment building failure to provide the owners of this house consent to the establishment of the communal counter. It is noted that the gas distribution companies are required to ensure the installation of an individual gas meters, and not the whole house.
The law also provides for the possibility of self-determining individual gas meters to domestic consumers and compensation for such costs with funds that they paid for natural gas. The procedure for such compensation will be set by the Cabinet.
As noted by people’s Deputy Alyona Babak (the samopomich faction), the funds for the installation of individual meters, the number of which is estimated at about 3 million, the gas company must obtain from the tariff, therefore, for the smoothing of tariff growth period establishing individual gas meters extended from 1 January 2018 to 1 January 2021.
At the same time, during the voting, the deputies made an edit that when you install an individual meter in 2018, the refund must be allocated within 12 months.
