Ukrainian Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova appealed to the head of the regional delegation of the International Committee of the red cross in Russia, Belarus and Moldova Magne Bart with a request to visit the Ukrainian prisoners, as well as to assist her in organizing such trips. “Since yesterday trying to meet with the leadership of the ICRC regional delegation in Russia, Belarus and Moldova Magne Barth. Today his assistant said that he (quote) “a very tight schedule and cannot meet.” To the question, maybe tomorrow, replied that there is no window,” wrote Denisov.
The Ombudsman said that in view of the situation, she sent Bart a formal letter of request to visit Oleg Sentsov, Alexander Kolchenko, Vladimir Baloga, Stanislaus Cliche and Aleksandra shumkova.
“I asked him to carry out visits to prisons where they serve their sentences, to check their health status and to facilitate the organization of my visits to the citizens of Ukraine”, – said Denisov.
To his message, she attached a photocopy of the letter.
