Demand for tablets is falling rapidly

The global market for tablet computers is on the decline is 2.5 years, according to data of the analytical company International Data Corporation (IDC).

“The growth rate of tablet market from 2010 to 2013 was higher than in other consumer markets before. However, for many reasons, consumers have less to strive to upgrade these devices or buying them for the first time. We continue to believe that the main reason for this is the growing dependence of people on smartphones, as well as minimal technological differences between the devices and the development of new form factors,” says IDC analyst Ryan Reith (Ryan Reith).

Apple remains the largest tablet vendor, but iPad shipments decline for 13 consecutive quarters. In the first three months of this year were issued for 8.9 million of these devices against 10.3 million units a year earlier.

These results show that Apple is not protected from changes the dynamics of the corporate and consumer demand, part of which is the continued success of other product lines of the company. 2016 was the first full year of the presence of the iPad Pro in the market. Samsnug is still the second place on volume of release of tablets in the world. In the first quarter the South Korean giant has reduced the supply of these products by 1.1%. Like Apple, Samsung, more rushes in the sector of hybrid products, so at MWC 2017, the Corporation introduced three new models of this class.
