The Japanese brand Mitsubishi has posted some new images of teasers of its future compact crossover and revealed his name.
Rumors in early February, was confirmed: the Japanese decided to revive for the new model named Eclipse (“Eclipse”), which from 1989 to 2012 were used for sports cars.
The new model will be presented in Geneva under the name of Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. Judging by the first official images, the novelty will retain the design style of the prototype XR-PHEV and XR-PHEV II. Sporty silhouette will provide a sloping roof and distinctive swage line on the side of the body, passing through the level door handles. The rear lights of the crossover will be combined with led strip on the tailgate, and the X-shaped design of the front end accentuate the led strips in the headlights head light.
The car will be larger than the miniature ASX, but more compact Outlander. Under the hood Eclipse Cross will appear 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel and petrol turbo. Later, Mitsubishi is going to build a hybrid version of the model.
Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross will be fully declassified at the end of February. The public model will show in early March at the Geneva motor show.
