Debuted Hyundai Accent.
Popular on both sides of the ocean Korean sedan the fifth generation presented at the international auto show in Toronto, Canada.
Then note the model sold to us under the name of Accent, is not quite a North American Accent, but rather Solaris, which is produced in Russia at the plant Hyundai in St. Petersburg. However, it is virtually the same model but for different markets.
Externally, both versions are almost identical, but slightly differ in dimensions: Hyundai Accent 20 mm shorter (4385) at 19 below (1450) than Solaris, also by 20 millimeters smaller and the wheelbase (2580).
In the North American market the novelty is equipped with a single motor — an upgraded 1.6-liter gasoline “Quartet” of the family Gamma, developing 132 horsepower and 161 Nm of peak torque. From “our” Accent engines will be at least two 100-horsepower 1.4 and a 123-horsepower 1.6. Identical transmission: six-speed “mechanics” and “automatic” with the same number of ranges.
But what we will not is such a wealth of equipment — the “American” in this list includes six airbags and rear view camera and automatic emergency braking before the obstacle Autonomous Emergency Braking.
