After meeting with a dull rokapops glam rock young Black Cage my ears was to restart, and the new album of black / death metallers Azarath are ideal for this purpose is. The poles, anyway, know a lot of gloomy music.
The previous album Azarath – “Blasphemers’ Maledictions” was released already six years ago. And here on April 6 label Agonia Records released a new album called “In Extremis”. But first, the Network was posted a lyric video for the song “At The Gates Of Understanding”:
The title “In Extremis” means “death” or “in extreme circumstances” in Latin. The recording of the album took place in different locations in the period from March to November 2016 with the participation of drummer Inferno (Behemoth), guitarist Bart (Armagedon), Peter bass (ex-Lost Soul) and vocalist/guitarist Necrosodom. The mixing and mastering of “In Extremis” has been the Halldor Grunberg at Satanic Audio. Graphic design and layout was done Mentalporn (Behemoth, Origin, Decapitated) with calligraphy provided by Ihasan and additional Art work from the Holy Poison Design. The author of the album cover was made by March Prominska (Hypnagogic Painting).
Azarath about the new album:
After the previous album we wandered into quite unexpected territory, “In Extremis” is largely a return to basics. That’s what was Azarath originally, when we published sonic abomination in the basement of our home city, which then was perfected over the last two decades due to the experience. Raw, terrible, and 100% satanic music, however we play with wicked intentions and sophistication. As for lyrical content, this record is like no other, filled with worship of death, that is both the beginning and the end, and manifests itself in the form of deities, demons and symbols present in different traditions. When viewed from this point of view, this album is the final ritual of transformation.
It is gratifying that the record is entirely possible to listen to online, the group posted the album on YouTube:
