The action “do Not beat, I just dance” was held on November 10.
On Friday, November 10, near the building of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in Central Kiev protest, “stop, I’m just dancing”, which participants thus expressed their protest against raids and arrests at Nightclubs, particularly in Metropolitan school Jugendhub.
The organizers turned through the amplifiers the music that danced the protesters.
The protesters installed a canopy and attached the posters in Ukrainian and English: “do Not humiliate, just defense”, “we are All equal, we are all different”.
According to participants of the performance, the purpose was “to stop the arbitrariness of the police against culture” and to attract the attention of the authorities to the arbitrariness committed by law enforcement officers during the “searches” in entertainment establishments of the capital.
Meanwhile, the people’s Deputy from BPP Sergey Leshchenko said on his page in Facebook that he intends to defend the interests of the victims of the searches in Jugendhub.
“Rave under the Cabinet? No, the protest against police violence during the searches at Nightclubs. Last time in Kiev – if you RAID in Jugendhub. Well done guys, that is not silent. As an MP, I sent an appeal to the interests of the victims. As a citizen – came to support”, – he wrote.
It should be noted that searches at the nightclub took place in the night of 28 October. Law enforcement officers in this case detained 17 people with drug and 32 visitors were taken to the military enlistment office.
According to police, during the search it was recorded that night entertaining institution operates without any permits and is in disrepair. In addition, it was reported about complaints of inhabitants of nearby houses.
According to law enforcement, people complained that the visitors of the club are predominantly minors and students in a condition of alcoholic and narcotic intoxication, and also in the school can sell drugs. While checking these requests, the law enforcement authorities documented five facts of storage of drugs among visitors of the institution. According to the detainees, discovered and seized the drugs they buy from strangers at the club.
The results of the inspection data was entered in the Unified register of pre-judicial investigations. Initiated criminal proceedings under part 1 St. 317 (Organization or maintenance of places for illegal use, production or manufacture of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal code of Ukraine.
Recall, 29 October, the military Commissariat of Kiev issued a statement in which it was reported that after checking there were 15 recruits who issued the subpoenas duces tecum at 9:00 on October 29 for a medical examination to determine the degree of fitness for military service.
