Czech President Milos Zeman, known for his outrageous and controversial statements, expressed the belief that in the long term, Russia could become a member of the European Union. It was the Czech leader said in an interview with TASS.
“I think I already said Russian representatives have met before. It was a paradox. I told them: “In the long term Russia will become an EU member, and if you don’t like it, think that the EU is a member of the Russian Federation. The result will be the same,” said Zeman.

Zeman also said that opposes sanctions and isolation of Russia. It should be noted that during his upcoming visit to Russia, scheduled for 20-24 November, the Czech President will be accompanied by the largest in the last 25 years, the Czech delegation.
