Cyprus archaeologists “discovered” a rare mosaic depicting chariot racing.
Archaeologists have discovered in Cyprus next mosaic belonging to the IV century ad, which depicts the chariot races, popular in Ancient Greece and the Roman Empire. The discovery was made in 1938 in the village of Akaki, near the capital of Cyprus — Nicosia, but just last year researchers began to explore the mosaic floor.
Mosaic is one of the seven famous mosaic floors in the world, depicting chariot races.
