Chief engineer at Samsung Display said that in the near future should not wait for the curved smartphone.
He said currently, the South Korean manufacturer is betting on frameless smartphones that sell well. And this, in turn, pushes plans to release curved smartphone at a later date.
Earlier media reports said that the release of new products could take place in 2017. Now, however, we should not expect that the device will arrive before 2019.
Nevertheless, the manufacturer has repeatedly demonstrated a flexible panel. In addition, the direct competitor of Samsung – Apple – has already patented its curved smartphone. So, most likely, the new product will not move away for longer periods.
