Ukraine midfielder Marlos not fully acquainted with Ukrainian history and culture, taking head coach Andrei Shevchenko, a famous poet Taras Shevchenko.
During an interview Granted journalist Igor Tsiganyk offered to help the midfielder to learn one of the poems of famous Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko, if he manages to score against Croatia in today’s match. Marlos took the information quite differently, noting that he considers him a good football player and person.
“Thank you very much. Yes, he is a very good player and person,” said the midfielder in an interview with Profootball.
Thus on specifying question, whether he is speaking about the main coach, Marlos answered in the affirmative.
Apparently, the midfielder did not fully understand the question of the journalist, and mistook Taras Shevchenko with the head coach of the national team of Ukraine Andriy Shevchenko because of the identical name. Although the poet, and winner of the Golden ball is very famous not only in Ukraine but also abroad.
Today Marlos together with the national team of Ukraine will take part in the final match against Croatia. The meeting will be held in Kiev (kick-off at 21:45), and exit in play-off the yellow-blue must beat Plaid.
