The communication system has been tested on a test group
When completed the rehabilitation course after stroke in the clinic, the sick still need medical supervision.
That’s why Bart is cool, a graduate student from the University of Twente in the Netherlands, has developed an online system of interaction between patient-doctor. The basis of the technology is a sensor-Laden, which is worn under clothing, it transmits data to physicians via the Internet.
The current version of the special costume contains a total of 41 sensor that monitor the activity of the patient are counted and transferred them loads. Built-in transmitter sends all the data to the data processing server at the University. There are all evidences are processed, the excess removed, leaving only those that are important to the therapist. In addition, it is hoped that the feedback provided by this system will help to improve existing rehabilitation programs.
“In such systems has long been a great need, but never had a need for this technology,” says cool: “Now, thanks to the rapid development of information technology, it became possible”.
The communication system has been tested on the group of subjects that wore suits every day for three months. The suit itself was developed in partnership with a Consortium of European companies and institutions.
