The Verkhovna Rada prolonged the moratorium on sale of agricultural land. For the corresponding bill voted 236 deputies.
The document notes that before the introduction in Ukraine the turnover of agricultural lands must first develop and adopt a legislative framework for the formation of a developed network of farmers and agricultural cooperatives.
“Abolition in conditions of martial law and economic crisis of the moratorium without the settlement at the legislative level the procedure of turnover of agricultural lands is a threat to both national and food security of our country”, – stated in the explanatory note of the bill.
The authors of the document believe that the extension of the moratorium will allow to remove social tensions that have emerged in society on the background of political speculation on this issue and will provide time to develop a mechanism to introduce transparent market of agricultural land.
Land reform is an important condition of the program of cooperation between Ukraine and the International monetary Fund.
