An upgraded version of the F-15 Eagle got a cool promotional video demonstrating its superiority. The so-called Advanced Eagle, or F-15 2040C, together with other powerful war machines such as the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, allowing the US army to fight the numerically superior enemy air fleet.
The USAF traditionally rely on mixed bundling tactics of the strike group when a large, expensive machines complement the light and cheap fighters, thus forming a group with a wide range of possibilities. F-15 Eagle and later the F-22 Raptor was designed with one purpose: combat in the “air-air”. However, to pay for everything: the high cost of the F-22, combined with the end of the cold war, economic downturn and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan has forced the Pentagon to cut an order for 750 all Raptor fighters to 187.
The emphasis on stealth and avoiding enemy radar means the F-22 and F-35 must rely on his gun and the fuel reserves to carry out its work. F-22 Raptor carries on Board up to six medium-range missiles AMRAAM and the F-35 to four. Although both aircraft can carry on their wings extra missiles and fuel, this leads to an increase in the radar traces. In addition, external stores also increase aerodynamic drag, reducing performance characteristics.
Despite the fact that the total number of F-22 is increasing every year, hundreds of F-15 are still in operation. Boeing solved the problem by simply equipping the F-15 more than a dozen missiles AMRAAM. Advanced upgrade Eagle 2040C would be most useful for F-15, updated up to the standard of so-called “Golden eagle”, which corresponds to the new AN / APG-63 (V) 3 active synthetic a-scan (AESA).
One of the possible scenarios of combat in the air, Advanced Eagle will work with their newer colleagues, quickly identifying and destroying the numerically superior fleet of the enemy missile volleys. Easily identifiable and more vulnerable F-15 will break Vered to launch their missiles at targets designated F-22 and F-35. Once their missiles are exhausted, the F-15 will go to the base, and the F-22 and F-35 will use its Arsenal to continue the fight.
Combat upgrade Eagle consists of so-called “chetyrehspalnyh” combat points on the wings, each able to carry four AMRAAM missiles, so a total of 16. The upgrade also increases the range of the F-15 with new tanks for fuel storage, which are attached to the body of the aircraft to reduce drag. But the most important update is the sensor and Talon HATE communication module.
Currently in the testing of the Talon HATE allows the F-15 to obtain the data from the F-22 so that the enemy could not intercept. Developed in 1990-ies, the F-22 Raptor can only send information to other machines using Raptor Intra Flight Data Link (IFDL). Talon HATE, except that itself is an infrared sensor for search and tracking, allows aircraft equipped with this device to connect to IFDL and receive sensor data Raptor. The pilot could see the incoming data as well as data from other sources, through a new Central touchscreen display in the cockpit.
