Despite the difficulties, the plant “Dziewulski and Liang” in 1914, produced 400 thousand square meters terracotta tile, and the success continued until 1917, when after the revolution, power in the factories has completely passed into the hands of revolutionary committees, which the special edicts established the self-defense groups of enterprises.

“The plant began. And stood until 1925. Part of the building was destroyed, although large equipment is preserved. Then started across the country a Large Construction project returned the chance to plant and superhuman efforts of a small collective factory of tiles was raised from the ruins, began to smoke all 24 horn, producing the firing of the first batch of Mettlach tiles” – said on the website.

In 1926 the factory was renamed to Factory Sandstone tiles imeni Krupskoy. In April of the same year was released lot of 27 thousand square meters of tiles for the construction of the Volkhov hydroelectric station (it was the first significant gift ceramists Slavic country). Then the plant was given the first few trucks.

It is noted that now from the factory only the “skeleton, reminiscent of the landscapes of 1943”.

Some of the premises of the former factory, being in private ownership, have been used as warehouses, or sheltered workshop small enterprises for the production of ceramic or other products.
