The network has shown Slavyansk ceramic combine, which was founded in 1901 by Jacob Essen.
It is noted that a few decades ago products Slavyansk Ceramic Combine was known in all corners of the USSR, and ceramic products were exported. However, in the 21st century from the Slavic Keramkombinat little left and now it is the thrown object.
The network showed the checkpoint Slavyansk ceramic plant through which every day held a thousand people.
The history of this powerful ceramic enterprises began in 1893 when three Polish entrepreneurs have opened joint-stock company “Dziewulski and Liang” and bought a plot of land for the construction of the plant near the railroad in the city of Slavyansk, Kharkov province.
It is noted that the brick building is the office of the joint-stock companies. Now this building became a historical monument.
Founders Ian Dziewulski and brothers Josef and Wladyslaw Lange – successful entrepreneurs and executives, the owners of the ceramic factory in the Polish town of Opoczno.
“In the XIX century the tsarist government encouraged foreign investments, providing investors with subsidies, so things on this joint was excellent, they went well and in the twentieth century, when Russian big business began to experience problems: starvation wages, fifteen-working day, the events of 1905 in St. Petersburg, the strike has already been frequent clashes of protesters with working policemen, the growing power of the revolutionary struggle and, of course, the First world war” – told the authors of the photos.
“The imperialists started a war, which embroiled the Russian Empire. Men – breadwinners and workers, drove to die for king and Fatherland. In all enterprises of the country began decline in industrial production, rising prices for food and goods, and the hunger had grown to alarming proportions,” said the publication.
Despite the difficulties, the plant “Dziewulski and Liang” in 1914, produced 400 thousand square meters terracotta tile, and the success continued until 1917, when after the revolution, power in the factories has completely passed into the hands of revolutionary committees, which the special edicts established the self-defense groups of enterprises.
“The plant began. And stood until 1925. Part of the building was destroyed, although large equipment is preserved. Then started across the country a Large Construction project returned the chance to plant and superhuman efforts of a small collective factory of tiles was raised from the ruins, began to smoke all 24 horn, producing the firing of the first batch of Mettlach tiles” – said on the website.
In 1926 the factory was renamed to Factory Sandstone tiles imeni Krupskoy. In April of the same year was released lot of 27 thousand square meters of tiles for the construction of the Volkhov hydroelectric station (it was the first significant gift ceramists Slavic country). Then the plant was given the first few trucks.
It is noted that now from the factory only the “skeleton, reminiscent of the landscapes of 1943”.
Some of the premises of the former factory, being in private ownership, have been used as warehouses, or sheltered workshop small enterprises for the production of ceramic or other products.
“A Polish twin brother ceramic factory in Opoczno continues successful work. For more than a century, despite great difficulties, two wars, the Soviet occupation, the factory in Opoczno has earned almost universal recognition. Today, Polish tile and plumbing valued in many countries, including in Ukraine and sold under the trademark Opoczno,” said the authors.
