In early July, to mark the 110th anniversary of the birth of Frida Kahlo Dallas Museum of Art decided to put a new record and to gather as many people as possible dressed in the style of the famous Mexican artist.
Frida Kahlo (Frida Kahlo de Rivera) was born 6 Jul 1907 in the Mexico city suburb and began drawing at the age of 18 years after a terrible car accident in which she was confined to a hospital bed for over a year. However, the fame artist went much further than his native country, and even in the whole continent now the image of Frida Kahlo one of the most recognizable in the world, and it was decided to use the organisers of a mini-festival in Dallas. That day, the event gathered more than five thousand people, and thousands more of them came in the “costume of Frida.”
Under the costume of Frida meant an outfit consisting of a long skirt, painted “monopoly” – the famous hallmark Kahlo – at least three flowers in her hair and a long Mexican shawl red or pink color on the shoulders.
