Clip from disappearing under the sand by the clam has gathered over 16 million views. Video

In six days the video with the marine inhabitant has gone viral.

Edition ScienceAlert has published a video that shows a bivalve mollusk of the species Siliqua, which is characterized by unusual ability, the animal is able to burrow into sand to a depth of half a meter.

For this purpose, the clam uses the foot, which shifts the sand and water. In this way it makes the soil more friable, and can completely bury it.

Also in the video, filmed the moment when the mollusk “spits” waste his life. It looks pretty unusual.

In six days the video with the sea dweller became viral and gathered on Facebook more than 16.5 million views.
