Camaro new generation can get three new power plants.
Earlier, Ford has already confirmed that he intends to launch a hybrid version of its iconic Mustang, and now came the turn of Chevrolet to shock conservative fans with information about the electrification of the Camaro.
According to the latest information, new generation Camaro can get three new powerplants – two hybrid and one sorbirovannoe petrol 4-cylinder version with a capacity of 2.7 liters.
It is reported that the 2.7-litre classic version will be able to produce 310 horsepower, and will allow the Camaro to accelerate to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 5.2 seconds. Apparently, this is the same engine that is installed on the Chevrolet Silverado. It can replace the current 2-liter version of 275 horses and 400 Nm.
In fact, this motor puts the Camaro on a par with the new Ford Mustang, whose 2.3-liter EcoBoost motor develops just 310 horsepower.
As for the hybrid options, the first involves a 2-litre version, which is paired with electric motor produces 365 horsepower and propels the car to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds with a consumption of just 7.8 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.
The second version consists of a powerful 6.2-liter V8 and electric motor, which together will give a power range from 455 to 545 horsepower that will allow the Camaro to reach a hundred in less than 4 seconds with an average consumption of 11.7 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers.
Thus Chevrolet is responding to the hybridization of the Ford Mustang, which will be released in 2020. Probably the same time you should wait for the new Camaro.
