Sunday night was the closing of the 70-th Cannes film festival. A jury whose members were Pedro Almodovar (Pedro Almodovar), will Smith (Will Smith), Jessica Chastain (Jessica Chastain), Paolo Sorrentino (Paolo Sorrentino) and other stars of world cinema, selected the winners and gave away the main awards.

The winner of the show was Swedish Director Ruben Ostlund (Ruben Ostlund). He received a “Palme” for the painting “Square” (The Square) — author’s statement about the vanishing of European humanism. The film scored a well-known Hollywood actors star in “the handmaid’s Tale” Elisabeth moss (Elisabeth Moss) and “Lovers” Dominic West (Dominic West).

Grand Prix — the second largest prize of the festival went to the French drama “120 BPM”, a story about a group of LGBT activists under the “Act” who fought for the rights of HIV in the 90-ies. Best Director award was handed to Sofia Coppola for the remake of the classic Hollywood movie “Deceived” with Colin Farell in the title role. Best actor was recognized by Joaquin Phoenix, who played in the psychological Thriller “You were never here”, actress Diane Kruger, noted in the film by Turkish Director Fatih akin “To the limit”.
Andrey Zvyagintsev / Rexfeatures
In the Golden section of Cannes-2017 was our compatriot Andrey Zvyagintsev, who directed the psychological drama “Dislike”. The film telling about a boy he escaped after another quarrel parents, was one of the most talked about films of the festival. As a result of its noted big jury prize.
