Canada takes its troops from Poland who moved there after the annexation by the Russian Federation of the Crimea in 2014.

In addition, part of canadian military equipment and supplies from Poland will travel to Latvia, where Canada is headed by a multinational battalion.
“In the last three years of the Ground tactical team in Poland demonstrated Canada’s commitment to security and stability in Central and Eastern Europe and that commitment continues in other operations,” – said the head of the joint operations centre of the canadian armed forces, Lieutenant-General Stephen Bowes.
