The Minister of national defence of Canada Harjit Sajjan Singh and the Minister of foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland decided to continue the educational mission of the Armed forces of Canada in Ukraine for another two years, until the end of March 2019.
This was announced by the government of Canada.
In particular, it is noted that thanks to the program called “Operation UNIFIER”, the canadian Armed forces provide military training and assistance in the development possibilities of the personnel of the armed forces of Ukraine in support of Ukraine’s efforts to safeguard its sovereignty, security and stability.
“Operation UNIFIER is part of a broader effort by the government of Canada to support democracy, human rights and the rule of law in Ukraine by providing financial, humanitarian and non-lethal military assistance”, – stated in the message of the government of Canada.
The armed forces of this country along with its allies and the government of Ukraine will continue to support the professional development of the armed forces of Ukraine and to expand their opportunities in several industries, including training actions in small groups, mine clearance explosive devices, activities of military police, medical training and upgrading of logistic support.
Of the canadian armed forces also provide support in the implementation of strategic institutional reforms in the defence agencies of Ukraine.
