This is stated in the study, researchers from the Korean Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul.
The experiment involved more than 130 thousand non-smokers. However, some of them are sometimes exposed to tobacco smoke at home or at work.
It turned out that passive Smoking increased the risk of high blood pressure on average by 13%. If it lasted 10 years or more – 17%.
It is noted that one in five non-smokers regularly become a passive smoker. According to the authors of the study, it is necessary to introduce more stringent Smoking bans and to provide additional assistance to smokers to get rid of bad habits.
