Cadillac has started testing a new compact crossover

In the engine range of the car will include a 2.0-liter unit with output of 252 horsepower.

Cadillac has begun road testing its new compact crossover called the XT4. Photospies the first time managed to shoot a novelty during the tests. The images were uploaded edition Motor1. The premiere of the car will take place at the end of next year. In the model range Cadillac novelty will take place below XT5. The main competitors of the car should be the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Mercedes GLC.

Judging by the spy photos, the novelty design will remind senior XT5 crossover. In scale of motors of the machine may log 2.0-liter four-cylinder. The capacity of the unit will amount to 252 horsepower. It is also expected the appearance of a 1.5-liter turbo engine with recoil 170 horsepower.

Additionally, customers can offer 1.6-litre diesel engine. The power of the engine is 136 horsepower. The unit will work in conjunction with the six-speed gearbox or a nine-storeyed automatic transmission. The basic version of the car available exclusively with front-wheel drive. Optionally you can order the all-wheel drive system.

The company also will develop a large crossover, which will take place between the XT5 and the Escalade. According to preliminary data, the novelty will receive the name of XT7. The Assembly of the new Cadillac will be conducted at the plant in Detroit.

The next premiere of the Cadillac sedan will be the ST3. The novelty will be a direct competitor to the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA. By the end of 2017 the company will introduce a facelifted version of all-wheel drive XTS sedan.
