Boris Johnson said he “was wrong”, allowing for the restart of the relations between great Britain and Russia. The British Prime Minister linked the “horrible problems” in relations between London and Moscow with a poisoning Skrobala.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he made a mistake, admitting the possibility of restarting relations between London and Moscow. “I’m very disappointed”, – quotes the policy of the British publication The Spectator, Monday, December 23. According to the head of the government, he “really believed” that the relations of the two countries “can begin again,” but “was wrong.” While Johnson has called Russia a “great country with which we fought together against fascism”.
Four episodes of poisoning “Newbie”
“Horrible problems” in relations between London and Moscow are connected with the poisoning of former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter in the British Salisbury said Johnson a few days earlier in an interview to the Estonian portal ERR. They were poisoned in March 2018. According to investigators, the poison of nervously-paralytic substance “Rookie” – was put on the doorknob of a house of former double agent in Salisbury. After long-term treatment Skrypali left the hospital, and their current place of residence is kept secret.
In June in Amesbury was hospitalized citizens of the UK, Charlie Rowley and his common-law wife, don Sturges. It was later established that they were poisoned by the same substance as Skrypali. Some days later Sturgis died. The Russian side has denied involvement in both incidents.
London was accused of the crime alleged employees of the Main Directorate of the General staff of the Russian armed forces (former GRU), Ruslan Bashirov and Alexander Petrov. The result indicated that their names may be fictitious.
Later in the case there is a third suspect – a representative of the military intelligence of Russia, arrived in the UK with a passport in the name of Sergey Fedotov. The investigative group is Bellingcat, The Insider, Conflict Intelligence Team and “Project” learned the details of the biography Bashirova, Fedotov and Petrova and called their real names – Anatoly Chapiha, Alexander Mishkin and Denis Sergeev.
