In the United States found a way to run in synthetic materials of photosynthesis process, turning greenhouse gases into clean air. For the experiment, Professor Fernando Uribe-Romo and his colleagues gathered photoreactor led — glowing blue cylinder, reminiscent of a Solarium.
Fernando Uribe-Romo used the Titan with the addition of organic molecules N-alkyl-2-linepairedseparator that acted as light-harvesting antenna tuned to the absorption of blue light. Of them at the University of Central Florida has gathered a cylindrical photoreactor equipped with blue led lighting.
Measured volumes of carbon dioxide were slowly placed in photoreactor and turned into two kinds of fuel, formate and formamide, simultaneously purifying the air.
“We contribute to the development of technologies that can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Need a new air purification technology and infrastructure to it. But it can be done,” explains Uribe-Romo.
The idea of launching artificial photosynthesis is not new, but until now, scientists could not effectively use sunlight needed to start chemical reactions.
