Some Indian tribes of Brazil held a protest, speaking out against the draft law on the demarcation of lands for indigenous peoples it can lose part of their ancestral territories.
Tribal leaders accuse President Michel Temer that he was going to transfer land in the Amazon to large corporations.
About 2 thousand people gathered in front of the Brazilian Parliament, blocking the traffic on nearby roads. For dispersal of demonstrators the police used stun grenades, rubber bullets and pepper spray. The Indians retaliated by firing at guards a few arrows from a bow.
To oust the Indians from the square in front of Congress police failed. Some protesters began to pitch tents and say they intend to stay here during the week.
