Bondarenko in Dubai beat seventh racket of the world

Ukrainian tennis player Kateryna Bondarenko made it to 1/8 final of a major tournament WTA Premier 5 in Dubai (UAE).

After a difficult victory over the Belarusian Arina Sobolenko Bondarenko waited for the opponents of an entirely different caliber – for a place in the 1/8 final the third racket of Ukraine competed with a famous Garbine Muguruza occupying in the actual WTA rankings for the seventh position.

At the start of the match Bondarenko made two break and led 4:0. In the next game of the State took the flow of the opponent, but in the transition refused to continue the fight, citing an injury of the left ankle.

For Bondarenko today’s success was the seventh in his career in matches against players in the top 10 of the WTA rankings. Last year, the Ukrainian one also scored a similar victory at Roland Garros in Paris, Catherine beat Roberta Vinci, who at the time was the seventh racket of the world.

Due to the exit in the third round at the Dubai Tennis Championships Ekaterina Bondarenko has already earned nearly 28 thousand dollars in prize money and 105 points. To threaten on the bigger Ukrainian will try to match with the ex-first racket of the world Caroline Wozniacki.
