Groisman scares rolling blackouts across the country.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman called on the government to solve the problem of the trade blockade in the Donbass.
“We must all unite and solve the problem. I would have divided it into several parts. We know that Ukraine consumes 24 million tons of coal per year, of which 9 million tonnes is anthracite, which is mined in the territory, which remains uncontrolled,” said Groisman on Sunday the TV channel “Ukraine”.
According to him, a third of the electricity produced on TES and CHP, which operate on coal and provide electricity and heat to the housing. The transition to gas will lead to higher prices for utilities, which are already very high, the Premier said.
“That is, blocking the supply of coal, which there is no alternative, means to stop the industry and blackouts throughout the country. We need to bring this up? I guess not. But it is clear that smuggling must be fought. And my job is to make transparent the border,” — said Groisman.
According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, smuggling must be combated, but need to block the movement of contraband goods, instead of the heat and metallurgy.
