Several groups of the Australian Parliament insist on the recognition of bitcoin official currency. To promote this idea, they created a group of “Parliamentary friends of the blockchain”.
The proposals of the parliamentarians have also called for the Central Bank of Australia to create their own cryptocurrency.
“It will be a revolutionary leap forward for the Reserve Bank and Australian financial institutions. We want to create in Parliament a political environment that would allow this, ” said one of the initiators and the Senator from the labour party Sam Destery.
It is worth noting that in the Australian Parliament there are those who call for tighter control over the use of bitcoins. Opponents of the cryptocurrency in the future can resist this initiative.
In particular, in the framework of the project activities Cashless economy analyzed the possibility of using blockchain technologies to implement innovative, highly secure, efficient and flexible platform designed to meet the needs of the payment market in the country and solve the problems in the field of cashless turnover in Ukraine.
Now the NBU is working on the possibility of creating such software and technological solutions. In the controller I believe that the implementation of this project will build a national, transparent and efficient retail payment platform with minimal transaction costs and almost instant transfer of money from one participant to another.
