Biathlon: the Ukrainians took the sixth place in the relay world Cup

The men’s team of Ukraine biathlon are unable to catch for a prize in the relay at the world Cup in Hochfilzen (Austria).

Pryma Artem and Sergey Semenov on the two first stages used only one additional cartridge, which allowed Ukraine to take the intermediate third place with a minimal gap from the leading of the French.

The problems began on the third stage – Vladimir Semakov got three extra rounds, and Ukraine has moved into fifth place with a 30-second gap from Russia and Austria.

At the last stage Dmitry Pidruchny avoided the penalty loop, but at the range lost almost 45 seconds. In the end sixth place with the worst shooting of the season.

In fairness, even with more reliable performance on the shooting range Ukraine would be very difficult to qualify for top 3. Much faster biathletes from Russia, France, Austria and Germany have rightly determined the winners of the championship of the world.

At the last stage Anton Shipulin for the gold fought with Martin Fourcade. At the front the Russians made one mistake and allowed the French to reduce the gap to four seconds. It seemed that a showdown in the final shot can not be avoided, but Shipulin perfectly through the middle of the circle and prevented the fight for the gold. Bronze at a home world Championships with the efforts of Dominic landertinger of Austria won.
