Belgium banned the use of plastic bags

From 1 September, none of the retail outlets of the city has no right to buy such a package

Brussels decided to abandon the use of disposable plastic bags. From September 1, their distribution in all outlets of the city is prohibited.

This measure decided to introduce to reduce environmental pollution, given the fact that the average plastic bag to decompose in nature 450 years.

According to the UN, in the world’s oceans annually is thrown to eight million tonnes of plastic. Environmentalists fear that by 2050 plastic in the oceans will be more than the fish.

As noted by The New York Times, more than 40 countries, including China, France, Rwanda and Italy have already banned plastic bags entirely or partially.

And on the eve of Kenya came into force a ban on the use of plastic bags. Everyone who will sell, produce or use such packages, faces a fine in the amount of 38 thousand dollars or up to four years of imprisonment
