Today in Brussels will host a summit of leaders of 27 countries of the European Union on the question of a British exit from the EU, reports the website of the European Council.
The summit needs to adopt the Directive for negotiations on Brexit. The guidelines will form the basis for negotiations and common EU position during the negotiations.
The draft guidelines were proposed by the President of the European Council Donald Tusk and presented to the member States on 31 March.
Tusk also invited to the summit the chief negotiator of the European Union concerning Brexit Michel Barnier, to ensure that he was “familiar with the views of the heads of States and governments”.
