Because of the epidemic of the coronavirus 50% of employed Russians threatened job loss

Every second working citizen of the Russian Federation could lose his job and the income. 50% subject to the risks of dismissal, reduction or delay of wages, and a forced leave of absence.

The epidemic of the coronavirus that led to temporary plant closures and decline in production, was a major shock to the Russian labour market, writes Newsru.com with reference to the report of the Russian presidential Academy of national economy and public administration (Ranepa).

Experts have analyzed which employee groups are most vulnerable to the impact of the pandemic on the labour market and concluded that 49.7 per cent of all workers in Russia employed in jobs that are potentially vulnerable to the effects of the epidemic of the coronavirus.

At risk are almost 35 million workers, including 63% of workers in the most affected sectors, where busy almost every third worker in Russia, 51% of unstable employment, which is 30.5% of workers and every fifth self-employed. Moreover, 34% of workers in Russia are vulnerable to two categories simultaneously, which increases the risks.

The most vulnerable were self – employed and individual entrepreneurs, employees of the affected branches (transport, communications, trade, service, nutrition, sports, tourism, education, science and culture, entertainment).

In age groups the most vulnerable are young people under 30 (the proportion of vulnerable – 57%). In the group of young professionals more at risk women (63%).
