At the moment, the reserves of gas in storage of 1.2 billion cubic metres lower than a year ago, and is consumed quickly.
Despite the increase in gas consumption due to cold weather, inventories for the heating season will be enough, said the head of Naftogaz Andrew KOBOLEV.
“Reserves will last” – he said on Thursday, January 24 on the sidelines of the “Ukrainian lunch” in Davos.
Commenting on the fact that stocks are now at 1.2 billion cubic meters lower than a year ago, and consumption is faster KOBOLEV said, “This is our plan for inventory management and working capital. It all goes according to plan.”
Answering a question of significantly lesser import this year compared to the same period, the head of Naftogaz added: “We went from record-high stockpiles, so we have this tactic work with the markets now: we are trying to buy at a lower price and not buy when the price is high”.
As reported, from the beginning of the heating season gas reserves decreased by 5 billion cubic meters to 12 billion cubic meters.
