Representatives of the Swedish research delegation gave evidence about what the Earth’s core may consist of microscopic cubic crystals of iron. This theory can determine the heterogeneity of the structure of the nucleus, as well as some other strange properties.
This is stated in the published Nature article Geospherу. “The first time we were able to show a specific example of that cubic iron can exist not only in a stable form at high temperatures and pressures. The formation of such crystals in the planet’s core can be explained by the fact that its structure is extremely heterogeneous seismic scanning and easily distributes the load,” said Anatoly Belonozhko, who spoke at the conference in Stockholm.
The core of the planet Earth, as of today, scientists believe, consists of two key layers. One – solid metal in the center, and surrounds it with a layer of liquid iron and Nickel. This metal “liquid”, thus, is not static and moves on a regular basis, like water boiling at a temperature of one hundred degrees Celsius. This movement is the basis for the generation of the magnetic field that protects life on Earth from cosmic radiation and solar flares is contained within no less danger.
