The Ministry of infrastructure intends to run a passenger train the “five capitals” on the route “Kiev – Minsk – Vilnius – Riga – Tallinn” to the end of 2017 this was stated by Minister of infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian during a meeting with the Minister of transport and communications of Lithuania Rokas Masiulis, according to the website of the Ministry.
“We expect that we will be able to run the train the “five capitals” before the end of the year, and this route will be popular among passengers,” said Omeljan.
In addition, the Minister stressed the importance of developing multimodal transport and the positive results of the train “Viking”.
“I am convinced that the combination of technologies successfully implemented transport projects in the countries of the Baltic, Black and Caspian seas will achieve the most successful results on the formation of new effective logistics solutions organization of the transportation process Europe – Asia – Europe. By the end of 2017 it is planned to complete the study on the organization of the digital process on the route of train “Viking”.
At the initiative of the Ukrainian side intends to attract to the specified project Georgia, Moldova and Azerbaijan, and in the next stage, and Poland, Hungary, Slovakia,” – said the Minister.
