The process of liberalization of the visa regime requires a few more procedural points.
The Committee of permanent representatives of member countries of the European Union (COREPER) met on 26 April to consider the issue of visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens. Relevant agenda published on the website of the EU Council.
It is reported that the Committee will consider the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending regulation no 539/2001 which lists the third countries whose nationals when crossing the external borders must have a visa, countries whose nationals are exempt from this requirement (Ukraine).
Then bezviz for Ukraine must be approved by the EU Council. It is expected that this will occur approximately may 11. This will be followed by the signing and publication of the decision in the Official journal of the EU. In fact, bizwiz will enter into force 20 days after publication – tentatively, June 11.
We will remind, on 6 April the European Parliament voted bezviz Ukraine. The debate on visa-free regime for Ukraine by the majority of MEPs in favor “for” saying the country has fulfilled all the conditions. However, some opposed.
