It is not excluded that the USA will continue bombing Assad’s forces.
Military confrontation in Syria between Russia and the United States is unlikely, and it is unlikely Americans will deploy a ground operation. This opinion was expressed by expert of the International centre for policy studies (ICPS) Yevgeny Yaroshenko.
According to him, the US is not ready to invade Syria because of the presence of Russian troops there, however, surgical strikes on Assad troops are not excluded.
“Any US military action against Syria is unlikely. The main obstacle is Russia’s military presence, which will lead to the risk of a direct military confrontation. However, such limited pre-emptive strikes on Syrian air bases or some command and logistic centres (if they are connected with deliveries of chemical weapons) are not excluded,” – said Yaroshenko.
He explained that the United States, under the Charter, the UN security Council cannot intervene in Syria, however, a failure by the Russians on the elimination of chemical weapons, gives a political cause Americans to strike blows to objects of Assad’s forces.
“However, to expect that the United States will deploy a ground operation, not worth it. In addition to the threat of a collision with Russia, it will pull some additional resources, unnecessary loss at a time when the priority is not the removal of Assad and against ISIS,” stressed the expert.
Earlier in the Kremlin said that after American attacks with cruise missiles at the airbase in Syria, relations between the US and Russia significantly damaged and the risk of clashes between the two countries increased.
