A man enjoys the peace and quiet.

Once David Glaskin lived in Sydney, worked as a broker and earned well, but in 1987 he lost a huge amount on the fall of stock index. In 1993, together with his girlfriend and child, a man rented a small uninhabited island on the coast of Australia. His family soon returned to civilization and Glaskin left. For 20 years, he has adapted to life on the island, staged a house from an Outpost during the Second world war and lives all alone: his only companion is a dog Quasi.

On 19 October 1987, Black Monday (in Australia, this day is known as Black Tuesday) the Dow Jones dropped 508 points. Glasina it cost approximately 7.25 million dollars. He recalls: “the Next few years were extremely heavy. Wife lost much money and blamed me. By and large, our family collapsed in 1991.” On Glasina were pressing the courts to 1993, he lost most of his fortune and sought out.

Later in the same year, he met a woman from Zimbabwe who was recently divorced. Says Glaskin they felt about the same, so, learning from one another about the possibility to rent a cheap wild island in the North-East coast of Australia, the pair jumped at the opportunity and settled in the little shack on the beach.

Glashen rented a third of the island with an area of 1.53 hectares for 43 years. For this she and her partner have created a company Restoration Island Priory Ltd. Payment — 13 thousand pounds per year.

“It didn’t last long, says Glasheen about life with a friend. — She was unable to handle it, for her it was too hard”. After the woman left, “Robinson” grew a beard and stopped wearing a shirt.

Thanks to solar panels on the roof of the islanders have electricity, so he goes to the Internet that runs on exchange (especially the praises of the investments in uranium) and could purchase on the mainland all the necessary to go hour by boat.

However, a man makes these trips are infrequent: on the island, he produces coconuts, catches fish and crabs, and even he grows fruit and vegetables and making beer. Life in a desert place taught him simple survival skills: “If you cannot learn it die here pretty soon.”

“The best of island life — you live in complete privacy and tranquility. Restoration island is a good name. Me personally, it was restored in all senses. But the bad thing is that no one with whom to share, no one to tell about their discoveries,” says David.

Since 2000, the man trying to oust from the island: Supreme court of Queensland ruled that David is not fulfilling its obligations and is no longer entitled to occupy the island. The fact that Glashen pledged to build on the island fishing base and create infrastructure for tourists at least 131 thousand pounds and 60 rooms. He claims that he is not allowed to make aboriginal.

Glasheen says he’s lonely: “hopefully, the ashore throw some mermaid.” However, sometimes to see him all the yachtsmen, swimmers, kayak and farmers. David interacts with them and treats the gifts of nature. Once on the island moored yacht Russell Crowe.

Four years ago, David became famous throughout the world by posting on Dating sites a few ads about searching “girl-Friday”, which would be settled together with him. He even took a picture of your mannequin to show what a desperate situation he, but a companion was not found: “Nothing came of it. I have for some time lived a girl from Italy, but she talked about an open relationship, and I don’t know what it was. I thought this means that we have no secrets from each other”.

Former broker still likes the stock exchange, willingly talks about it and gives advice: “the Stock market is amazing. This is the fastest, easiest way to make money. It’s better than work. You can get 50 times more per time, 10 times less”. He does not complain about his current situation: “it Was reckless to go so far. I’m not smart enough to see that the impending catastrophe. I did what I was supposed to, and went down with the ship”.

The island revival of an interesting story: April 28, 1789 on the ship British captain, William Bligh, a riot broke out, known as “mutiny on the bounty”. The rebels threw a Bligh with a part of a team in a rowboat without a map and compass and released into the open ocean. A month later, breaking the 6,000 miles, Bligh landed on the island where they found water, oysters and berries, and called it the island of the Renaissance.
