A spectacular festival is held in Italy.
A few dozen multi-colored balloons decorated the sky over the beautiful Italian valley in Umbria at the end of July. All of them are parties to the international balloon festival.
Balloon — an aircraft lighter than air, the principle of which is based on Archimedes ‘ principle. To create a lifting force is used enclosed in a sheath gas (often just hot air) with a density less than the density of the surrounding air.
If the balloon and to attach the engine, it will be the airship.
Balloons for the first time enabled man to rise into the air and later reach the stratosphere. The balloons rising to a height of over 11 km is called the stratosphere.
During the Second world war, balloons were widely used to protect cities, industrial areas, naval bases and other facilities from attacks from the air. The effect of barrage balloons were designed to damage aircraft in a collision with ropes, shells, or suspended on cables with explosive charges.
During the cold war automatic drifting balloons (ADA) was widely used by Western countries for reconnaissance over Soviet territory. The devices were unobtrusive, Autonomous, relatively cheap, and flying on a large remote while altitudes above 20 kilometers. This made the detection difficult HELL, and the destruction of inadequately expensive.
May 27, 1931 Auguste Piccard and Paul Kipfer first managed to reach the stratosphere in a balloon.
August 31, 1933, Alexander Dahl, while on Board an open balloon, made the first image, which is visible roundness of the Earth.
The current altitude record set on October 24 2014 Alan Eustace, rising to a height of about 41 421 meters in a spacesuit attached to a balloon over the American state of new Mexico.
The altitude record for manned balloon bench was installed on may 4, 1961: launched from the deck of the USS Antietam in the Gulf of Mexico, the balloon rose to a height of 34.7 km.
1 March 1999 in a balloon was made the first nonstop round-the-world flight — 40 814 km flight in 19 days 21 hours and 55 minutes (average speed of 85.4 km/h).
The altitude record for an unmanned balloon is 53.0 km, the Balloon was launched on may 25, 2002 from Iwate Prefecture, Japan. This is the greatest height ever reached aeronautical apparatus. Only rockets, rocket planes, and artillery shells can fly higher.
Well, we are at the balloon festival in Italy.
“This is a great way to see the world. It’s not like what you see from a plane or helicopter. Here is a review in 360 degrees, and do not know where to fly, where to land. This is really unusual”
