Autopilot Tesla called killer cyclists

Tesla announced the start of production of cars with full autopilot at the end of October 2016.

Expert on robotics Heather knight (Heather Knight) studied the principle of operation of the autopilot of Tesla electric cars and came to the conclusion that it can be dangerous for cyclists. An article entitled “a Review of Tesla autopilot: Cyclists will die,” the expert has published in his blog on Medium.

Knight explained that the purpose of her post was initially a desire to share the first impressions of the system. However, in the process of using the autopilot, she noticed that the car behaves strangely when approaching cyclists. According to her, Tesla does not understand that in front of her man, and treats the bike as a small car.

“The inability to determine an object does not mean that Tesla could not see him. But when at stake is human life, we recommend you never use the autopilot Tesla near cyclists,” concluded knight.

The scientist appreciated the other qualities of the system of Autonomous driving Tesla. According to her, the machine is rebuilt from the strip into the strip without the driver, but sometimes too late comes on the turn.

Tesla announced the start of production of cars with full autopilot at the end of October 2016. The machine will need to install 8 cameras with 360 degrees, and 12 ultrasonic sensors and a front radar. Similar equipment has already been equipped with Model S and X. it is Noted that the implementation of the new system will reduce the cost of transporting machines.
