As reports a press-service NAEK “Energoatom”, repairs of power unit No. 2 is planned to be completed in 63 days.
“Among the major works: major repair of the second steam generator and main circulation pump, the hydraulic tank of the emergency core cooling (ECCS-2), the first low-pressure cylinder, circulating pump, valves; average repair of the reactor plant, the safety system channels, and control and preventive work at the pre-voltage protective shell “, – stated in the message.
The plans also work to prolong the life of equipment. During a routine repair of the second power unit of the Khmelnitsky NPP is planned to perform a number of activities under applicable programs to improve security.
The radiation situation at the industrial site of KNPP and adjacent area has not changed, is at the level corresponding to the normal operation of power units and does not exceed natural background values.
Khmelnitsky NPP (KhNPP) is located in the territory of the Khmelnytsk region in the city of nepolokivtsi. In the composition of the Khmelnytsky NPP has two power units (VVER-1000) with a total capacity of 2000 MW (connected in 1987 and 2004). The main purpose of the station is the deficiency of electric capacity in the Western region of Ukraine.
