In the work on the project to create an underwater sculpture Park in the Red sea, attended by professional divers and specialists on the protection of the marine environment. They install on the bottom of the sculpture made of scrap metal and granite, with time on their site, a new coral reef. It is expected that the underwater Park will attract diving enthusiasts from those areas where natural coral reefs are under threat of extinction.
The figure in the form of the God Ptah made of granite separate discs connected by a rod, and has many small gaps and holes in order that they could settle marine life. Experts had first on land, renumber the disks in the correct order to disassemble the sculpture and be transported to the installation site, and then re-assemble under water. All the work took eight hours and required the participation of twenty-five professionals.
Earlier in the underwater Park has already been installed six sculptures. They include an elephant made from parts from cars, bicycles, fans and other scrap metals.
In the future the project team hopes to add underwater Park and other exhibits.
