Oceanographers have discovered a creature that can live forever. It was the jellyfish Turritopsis nutricula (nutricula), is able to maintain its life cycle without interruption.
The existence of immortal beings was discovered by accident – an Italian scientist, Fernando, Boero watched the development of some kind of jellyfish, one of which was Medusa nutricula. All representatives of the deep sea he placed in an aquarium in his lab, but unforeseen things which it was necessary to lay observation.
On return to the laboratory, Boero found that the aquarium has dried up, causing all the jellyfish died. Deciding to resume his observations, he again filled the tank with water and a few days later he saw several representatives of the jellyfish Turritopsis nutricula. After that, the oceanographer was then deliberately asusual aquarium, watching the change in their life.
It turned out that Medusa’s nutricula able to do for a long time without water, turning into polyps (early stage development) and then again to turn into a jellyfish if there is water. Jellyfish Turritopsis nutricula is the only representative of the living beings on Earth can live forever.
